Premier League Weekend Preview

Best Bets:

2 Pts on Tottenham -1 handicap to win @ West Brom (2/1 General)

1 Pt on Troy Deeney anytime goal scorer for Watford @ Middlesbrough (23/10 Bet Victor)

A return from the international break is greeted with joy from many we are sure. It was not exactly enthralling stuff from the England team so unless people watched other more entertaining matches we can feel your pain.

Not to worry though, as the Premier League should restore faith in exciting football as Chelsea and Leicester kick off this weekend’s action. Thankfully our picks in this round of games cover both weekend days, meaning that the good looking schedule will keep us interested on Saturday and Sunday.

Liverpool entertain Manchester United in a huge encounter between bitter rivals that should hopefully round off the weekend perfectly on Monday night. That isn’t the only game between the cities of Manchester and Liverpool as Manchester City entertain Everton at the Etihad. Both of these games could see teams turn in amazing attacking or defending performances…or maybe both, which only really leaves them too close to call.

2 Pts on Tottenham -1 handicap to win @ West Brom (2/1 General)

While some Spurs players in England shirts (Alli and Dier) didn’t exactly impress during the international break, others such as Son continued their good league form for their country. While it is always helpful to see players maintain their good form during international breaks, it is not necessarily a direct indication of how they or their team will perform on their return to Premier League action. This being said, we expect Tottenham to continue with their upturn in form as they face a trip to West Brom. West Brom appeared to have a promising start to their campaign, currently sitting in 9th place with 9 points. Despite this their last 5 games have not been too impressive. Bar their 4-2 win over West Ham, they have disappointed with a loss to bottom half Bournemouth and draws with struggling Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Stoke. After seeing Spurs impressive 2-0 win over the seemingly invincible Manchester City, the win to nil was tempting to us, but the odds on offer for a -1 win is superior and we feel that Spurs are more than capable of putting more than 1 past this West Brom team, therefore the -1 handicap at 2/1 is something we have to try and take advantage of.

1 Pt on Troy Deeney anytime goal scorer for Watford @ Middlesbrough (23/10 Bet Victor)

This could be a close match as Watford didn’t push on with their good form after winning 4-2 against West Ham and then 3-1 over Manchester United. Their defeat against Burnley (2-0) and draw with Bournemouth (2-2) was not exactly inspiring, but despite those results Troy Deeney remained a threat. He has scored in 3 of those 4 matches and considering that he is not only a threat from open play but also the penalty taker for Watford, has good scoring form of late and is the club captain who is a near certainty for 90 minutes (touch wood no injuries come into play like with Lallana last time around) then odds of over 2/1 for him to score any time against a team expected to fight relegation appears way overpriced.
