Chelsea to Comfortably Handle Swansea

Best Bets:

2 Pts Chelsea to win with -1 handicap @ Swansea (9/5 Bet Victor)

1 Pt Leicester to win @ Liverpool (9/2 General)

After another international break, we are back to business in the Premier League. This weekend should be a big one to welcome us back and I’m sure nobody needs to be reminded that the Manchester derby is kicking the weekend off. Apart from that there is potential for a beautiful display of football if Southampton find form against Arsenal, with plenty of good battles out there in Stoke-Spurs, West Ham-Watford and two of the promoted teams Burnley-Hull. Overall it should be an entertaining weekend.

2 Pts Chelsea to win with -1 handicap @ Swansea (9/5 Bet Victor)

Chelsea are not being talked about nearly enough. They have started the season in brilliant form, but Conte and his men are being overlooked due to the Jose and Pep factors drawing attention to Manchester. This probably doesn’t bother Chelsea too much as they can just keep their heads down and look to maintain their strong start. This weekend they travel to Wales to take on Swansea, going into the game having conceded 2 goals in their opening 3 games and Swansea having scored just 2 in theirs.

We see a good chance of a Chelsea win to nil here, but there are slightly better odds on offer for a -1 handicap and there appears no reason to not take that for a better profit. Swansea may have only shipped in 4 at the back so far, but Chelsea have scored 7 and Hazard is looking back to his brilliant best, with Costa looking to stake his claim as one of the league’s elite strikers. Throughout their team the talent is there to see clearly and they look as though they have been reinvigorated by Conte’s arrival and their poor defence of the title last time around. We fully expect their hot start to continue in Wales and feel good about this tip.

1 Pt Leicester to win @ Liverpool (9/2 General)

The short version of this tip is that we can’t even imagine another time that a defending champion of a league would go into a match against the previous season’s 8th place finisher with odds of 9/2 to take the win.

To add a bit more substance to this tip, we have considered starts to the season which look very even when you consider both teams are sitting on 4 points. The momentum appears to be with Leicester who have recovered from an opening day defeat to draw with Arsenal and then take a good win over Swansea. On the other hand, Liverpool have gone from looking like serious title contenders with a 4-3 win at Arsenal, to relegation contenders with a 2-0 defeat at Burnley, back to top 4 contenders with a 1-1 draw at Spurs. You’re never quite sure what you will get with Liverpool and they could put on a good display. Having conceded 6 goals in 3 games which is double what Leicester have conceded, we can see their defence being caused lots of problems and will take a small stab at a high price on a Leicester win.
