Spurs to Enjoy Home Comforts

Best Bets:

2 Pts on Tottenham to win v Liverpool (6/4 Betfred)

1 Pt on Middlesbrough to win @ West Brom (11/5 Bet Victor)

Just the two tips for us this weekend. Having checked the markets and weighed up how we feel on each match, we have possibly been fortunate in finding value at both ends of the fixture list, starting with Saturday’s early kick off and ending with one of the Super Sunday matches, meaning that we can enjoy the whole weekend without the tips being over early, and both will be there on TV for everyone to watch.

2 Pts on Tottenham to win v Liverpool (6/4 Betfred)

Spurs have not set the league alight this season, but their threat is still there and their defence appears to be picking up where they left off last term. Liverpool look to be just where they were last season. They look electric when attacking but weak defensively. Liverpool are coming off a 2-0 defeat at newly promoted Burnley and while this could be a one-off slip for them, no team would want to try to bounce back away at Spurs. As we’ve said, Spurs aren’t firing on all cylinders at this point, but if their defence stays strong it is surely only a matter of time before their attack finds goals again.

1 Pt on Middlesbrough to win @ West Brom (11/5 Bet Victor)

It is not our intention to pick on West Brom, but the start that Middlesbrough have made this season is sure to get their confidence flowing. Negredo seems to have settled straight in and is possibly trying to prove a point to Manchester City and other clubs that weren’t willing to give him a second chance in the league. West Brom did start the season positively with what was maybe a shock win away at Crystal Palace, but their display against Everton last weekend was not enough to start their home campaign with any points. Although 2-1 is not a pummelling, it could potentially have been a good couple of goals worse if Everton had been sharper in their finishing and West Brom still look like being a fairly solid team that will struggle to score many goals. They have scored in each of the first 2 games, but they have come out of last weekend with disappointment, while Boro have come away from the Stadium of Light in high spirits, intent on continuing a promising start in their attempts to stay up. Although a close game to call, given the odds and the form, we feel that Boro could well walk away with 3 points and a profit for us.
