Premier League Preview

Best Bets:

1 Pt on Leicester to win @ Manchester United (29/10 Bet Victor)

1 Pt on Sunderland to win @ Stoke (19/10 Will Hill)

1 Pt on Southampton to win v Manchester City (9/5 General)

So we have reached the final few weeks of an enthralling season in the Premier League. Like every year, predicting the outcomes of matches gets a lot trickier as some teams play with no inhibitions and turn out unexpected performances, others play for their lives (against relegation, for title or European ambitions) and shock the world. Some just look like they’ve already set their minds to their summer holidays or potential appearance at the Euros. So, as we are nearing the end of the season we are going to be bold in our predictions.

1 Pt on Leicester to win @ Manchester United (29/10 Bet Victor)

Leicester will again be without Jamie Vardy for their match this weekend, but they are turning more people into believers as the dream edges closer to reality. The Spurs slip-up against West Brom has been a huge boost but Leicester won’t want to hang around and leave anything to chance with a tough run in so they will look to end it at Old Trafford. Schlupp was outstanding against Swansea and showed attributes that could really disrupt the United defence, with De Gea possibly the only thing that could upset our bet. The odds seem amazing value for a team on the verge of winning the title so we are willing to stake 1 point on what would be a wonderful result for the Foxes and potentially the Premier League as a whole.

1 Pt on Sunderland to win @ Stoke (19/10 Will Hill)

The simple reason behind this pick is that Stoke have lost 4 of their last 6 and slipped into mid-table obscurity, 7 points from even being able to consider challenging for a European spot, with just 9 available. Sunderland are desperate for the points and have everything to play for, while looking as solid as at any other point this season and surely drawing confidence from just 1 defeat in 6 [against Leicester], conceding just 4 goals in 3 of those matches and scoring 5 over the course of 3 of them. Stoke have conceded 17 in that time and scored 6, suffering heavy defeats in their past 3. While they may have more quality, at this point of the season they may not have the spirit or heart of a Sunderland team desperate to surge and maintain their Premier League status. Again, this seems worth a point from our view as it would give a very nice return for little risk.

1 Pt on Southampton to win v Manchester City (9/5 General)

The Saints are trying to go marching on to the end of the season and secure a European spot. They want to keep the pressure on those above them and take advantage of any slip ups. To do this they will have to beat an in-form again City side. Any match against City is tough and right now they have won 4 of their last 6, with 2 draws (including a 3-0 win over Chelsea). However, Southampton may have found perfect timing to face them as they no doubt have at least one eye on their Champions League semi-final 2nd leg against Madrid, meaning they could see the likes of Kompany rested as a precaution against further injury before the clash in Madrid, especially having lost Silva during the 1st leg. For a 9/5 return on a home team in red hot form, this could be the perfect week to take advantage of favourable odds due to City being the opponents.
