Fatigue Not Enough to Stop West Ham

Best Bets:

2 Pts on West Ham to win @ Norwich (11/5 Bet Victor)

The Premier League continues this weekend as the top 4 face off against each other. Table toppers and new title favourites Leicester look to shock the world once more by getting another away win against Arsenal. The Gunners will be hoping that they can repeat their performance away at Leicester which saw the only thumping dished out to the impressive league leaders this term, with The Foxes ending the game on the wrong side of a 5-2 score line.

There is plenty to consider elsewhere, but the odds on teams like Southampton and Everton continuing their recent form aren’t as inviting as our pick this week. Manchester City hosting Tottenham is one that the home favourites may well struggle in, given last week’s humbling defeat against Leicester. Manchester United continue to believe that they can make the top 4, but it is vital that they brush aside Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and take advantage of the top 4 playing each other.

Our pick this week is focused on West Ham. They have been impressive this season so far, and they are pushing for a European place and possibly even a shock Champions League spot.

We’ve considered that West Ham picked up a few knocks against Liverpool in the FA Cup. Furthermore they were pushed all the way in 120 minutes of football which will add fatigue to the Hammers squad. This still doesn’t seem enough to swing this in Norwich’s favour as their main attacking threats seem to have just about survived a few scares from strong Liverpool challenges. Antonio still looks impressive and Payet stayed out of trouble, while Noble is still looking capable of pulling a few key strings here and there. West Ham lost Kouyate after he appeared to lose consciousness which could potentially keep him out at the weekend. Their midfield however still looks strong enough, and in defence Ogbonna’s performance shows that they should survive with their new centre back pairing including Collins.

On current form, Norwich are really going to struggle to stay up again this season. They have dropped into the bottom 3 while seeing a number of others around them starting to show better form. Things may have been different if they had managed to beat Liverpool, but they missed their opportunity and since then have lost 2-0 against the league’s bottom team, Aston Villa. Although they will be at home, their form at Carrow Road would only be good enough for 16th in the league, while West Ham’s away form is bettered by only 4 teams this season. This all suggests a West Ham win, which looks incredible value.
