NFL Week 15 Preview

Best Bets

2 Pts Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat St Louis Rams (Evs Ladbrokes)

2 Pts Buffalo Bills to beat Washington Redskins (10/11 Sky Bet)

In what seems to be reflective of our NFL betting this season we are on another streak, thankfully at the minute that’s a winning streak for our tips. Let’s see if we can maintain this week. Last week saw Gronk return for the Pats who got a much needed win to take charge of the AFC. In a cruel turn the Bengals had some key injuries late in the season. Most notably to Andy Dalton who is now questionable for the post-season. People have been quick to write off the Bengals, which we don’t agree with. Although Dalton has been fantastic this year it’s the weapons around Dalton that make the Bengals such a threat. Combined with their stifling defence it’s too early to say the Bengals are done.

2 Pts Tampa Bay Buccaneers to beat St Louis Rams (Evs Ladbrokes)

Our first tip this week comes in the Thursday night game that sees the Buccaneers face off against the Rams. Tampa Bay sit at 6-7 which is marginally better than the 5-8 Rams. The Rams however hold home field advantage in this one. St Louis managed to beat the Lions in week 14 with the Buccaneers going down to a loss against the Saints. What we think might be more telling however, is the recent form of St Louis. Prior to their week 14 win they had lost five on the bounce in a shocking run of form. The Tampa Bay week 14 loss can be put down to a great night from Drew Brees who completed 31 of 41 passes for over 300 yards. Brees had no picks, and on a night like that it’s hard to compete with New Orleans. The Bucs made a game of it late against New Orleans with their QB Jameis Winston playing much better in the fourth quarter. It will be key this week that the Bucs get some positive production out of their young quarterback.

Breaking down the matchup we give the edge to the Bucs who need to capitalise on their excellent ground game. Another key factor will be the performance of Mike Evans who is the main target for Winston. Evans wasn’t at his best last week, but as is the case with all good players, he will look to bounce back this week. Another issue the Rams face this week is who to go with at QB. Keenum started last weekend for the first time in two weeks and played poorly. He had one pick and no TD passes, which gives the Rams a dilemma as who to start at QB this week. We think Keenum will start again this week, but his confidence won’t be high and we see him having difficulties again.

2 Pts Buffalo Bills to beat Washington Redskins (10/11 Sky Bet)

Our second tip comes in the Sunday matchup between the Bills and the Redskins where we favour Buffalo to get the win. Both of these teams sit at 6-7 and have been somewhat unpredictable this year. Buffalo play in a much tougher division than the Redskins however so have a tougher schedule overall. The Bills went down to the Eagles at the weekend in what was a close match decided by three points. Robert Woods had over 100 yards receiving and Sammy Watkins added another touchdown reception to his collection for the season. It’s easy to see that this Buffalo team has some standout offensive weapons when you add McCoy to the mix. On the other hand the Redskins are coming from a three point win against the Bears. Kirk Cousins had a solid night throwing 300 yards with one touchdown pass and a pick.

We see this one being dictated by who has the best game through the air. We give the clear edge to Buffalo with their better all-round receiver options. Buffalo are more of a threat across the field, and we see them bouncing back from their Week 14 loss.
