The European Tour season closes this week with the DP World Tour Championships in Dubai. Rory Mcilroy goes into this competition with a slender lead over Danny Willet in the Race to Dubai standings having played only 11 counting competitions this year. The field this week is as strong as it gets on the European Tour, with a number of top 50 golfers ready to battle it out on the Earth Course.

This competition usually gives us a high class champion, with Mcilroy, Stenson and Westwood all past winners. We don’t see it any different this year and have gone with the leading contender as our tip for this week.

Our headline tip this week is Rory Mcilroy who goes off as the deserved favourite for this one. His last two starts in the Race to Dubai final series have yielded top 15s without him hitting top form. He is coming into this competition after a week of rest where he was able to recharge the batteries to get ready for a course he loves. Mcilroy’s course form is fantastic here and he rarely finishes outside the top ten on the Earth Course. In a recent interview Mcilroy talked about how Dubai feels like a second home for him and how well he knows the Earth Course. He clearly likes his chances this week and so do we. Back him on the win only market where he looks good value.
