Klopp to bring goals to the Kop

Best Bets:

1.5 Pts on Liverpool vs Southampton over 2.5 Goals Evs (Betfred)

1.5 Pts Dusan Tadic Anytime Goalscorer 5/1 (Coral)

We’re upping the ante this week and bringing you two headline tips this week after a good run of Premier League betting. Once again we are putting faith in Southampton to provide goals. Again we find a mouth-watering weekend ahead of us, with 4 or 5 huge games to look forward to! These games could go a number of ways, with us battling ideas as to whether teams will continue their expansive attacking play, or look to shut up shop, for clean sheets against bitter rivals.

With many games having potential for lot of goals, we considered the Manchester Derby as a high scoring match. Derbies however can often become cagey affairs resulting in low-scoring outcomes as players become conscious of being at fault for losing to their neighbours. For this reason we also decided to avoid the Tyne-Wear Derby, another we initially thought could be a goal-filled 90 minutes. We also expect Arsenal against Everton to be exciting, as the Gunners follow on from their unfancied Champions League win over Bayern. Everton will be hoping to bounce back after suffering a heart-breaking weekend on and off the pitch, in what could arguably have been viewed at the start of the season as a rivalry for European places.

Our Tips:

1.5 Pts on Liverpool vs Southampton over 2.5 Goals Evs (Betfred)

1.5 Pts Dusan Tadic Anytime Goalscorer 5/1 (Coral)

While some may believe that Liverpool are defensively strong, conceding very few goals, there is still a case to answer for their capabilities and it often seems that their clean sheets are almost more by luck than design. With the style that many expect Klopp to bring from his Dortmund days, it’s likely that Liverpool will press high and fast while trying to play fluid attacking football. This is more likely to expose the vulnerabilities of their defence and give even more opportunities to a far more threatening Southampton attack.

The return to form of Pelle has been noted and even without his input Southampton scored 2 last weekend. Furthermore the Saints have Tadic who is always a threat and goes off at 5/1 (Coral) for anytime goal scorer, representing great value. On the flip side, they also conceded 2 goals last week, losing what could be 2 important points come the end of the season. These mishaps make them more likely to gift chances to a capable Liverpool attack, even without Danny Ings and the ongoing worries over Daniel Sturridge.

The past few performances from Southampton have shown they are recapturing the form that surprised the league over the past few seasons. Furthermore the arrival of Klopp brings the anticipation of exciting football to Anfield again. The over 2.5 goals market looks great value as does a Tadic goal at any time.
