Go Low on Vikings vs Lions

Best Bets:

3 Pts on Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions under 44.5 Total Points 10/11 (Bet 365)

We have gone 2-2 in our NFL picks this season for a small profit. This week we are hoping to get back to winning ways with our headline tip. We initially liked the look of the Bills getting a win at Wembley Stadium in London this weekend, but with injuries to some key offensive players we have decided to stay away from this one. Looking at the available spreads there seems to be one standout selection and that is the Minnesota Vikings versus the Detroit Lions to be a low scoring affair.

The Lions are now 1 and 5 after an unconvincing win against Chicago last weekend. They finally got a win but they could have easily found themselves 0-6 after a lacklustre performance. Many fancied the Lions to have a strong year, but after 6 weeks they find themselves struggling at the bottom of NFC North. One of the primary reasons for this poor start to the season is failure to protect the ball with turnovers occurring frequently. Detroit isn’t famed for its fast pace of play and currently has an average of 20 points per game. Against a standout Minnesota Defence it is going to be a struggle for Detroit to score above 20 points in this one.

The Vikings on the other hand are 3 and 2 after a low scoring win against the Chiefs last weekend. The Vikings have been mediocre at best and their primary concern will be the effectiveness of their offence so far this season. The Viking’s offence currently is the second worst in the league. They only have three TD passes in five games and are really struggling to get points on the board. The Vikings are averaging just over 19 points per game so this one really does look set to be a low scoring affair with both sides struggling on the offensive side. The fact that you can get almost evens on less than 44.5 total points in this game looks very good value.
