The NFL hot streak stopped last week when we tipped the Bengals to cover the handicap against the Seahawks. The bet didn’t look like winning until the last moments of the game where unfortunately Cincinnati fell marginally short, only winning by three, on a -3 handicap. Our top tip comes to you for the Thursday night match between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons are 5-0 and their stock is rising each week, on the other hand the Saints are at 1-4 and suffered a somewhat surprising heavy defeat against the Eagles on Sunday. First things first it is important to note that Atlanta won’t maintain this record for the next couple of months. They look a strong team, and have realistic post-season ambitions, but it isn’t the time to be putting them in the same group as the Packers and Patriots just yet. The question this weekend is whether the Saints are good enough to stop the Falcons win streak, and that to us looks extremely unlikely.
The Falcons have been a scoring machine over the first few weeks ranking high in most offensive categories. The Saints on the other hand are struggling to score as their record would suggest. Both defences are average at best, so we think offence is the key standout factor in this matchup, with Atlanta winning this battle by miles! Matt Ryan made a few errors last weekend and he will be looking for a cleaner performance against the Saints. We like Ryan to come back strong on Thursday night with a standout performance. Everything here points to a Falcons win and they look great value on the -3.5 handicap market.
