Paul to get the job Dunne

Tips

1 Pt E/W Paul Dunne (150/1 Coral)

1 Pt E/W Chris Wood (35/1 Bet 365)

This week sees the return of the British Masters to the European Tour in an event hosted by Ian Poulter at the Woburn Marquess course. The event will make a welcome return to the tour schedule after a seven year hiatus. The British Masters boasts a strong field as players look to make their final push towards the Race to Dubai final series.

Looking at the course and current form we like a couple of players to go well this week and have suggested these options below. We suggest avoiding Ian Poulter who will have lots of distractions aside from golf this week. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him miss the cut as did Rory Mcilroy in his Irish Open event back in May.

Best Bets:

1 Pt E/W Paul Dunne (150/1 Coral)

Although we have limited information with regards to past course form on the Marquess course, one event that was staged recently was the 2015 Open qualifying. The man that came through in first that day was amateur Paul Dunne, shooting 9 under for his two qualifying rounds. Dunne went on to lead the Open through 54 holes and showed the world that he is someone to watch going forward. Dunne turned pro last week and competed in the Dunhill links. He finished in a very strong T19th which was a great showing in his first professional event. Dunne is clearly playing well and after getting his first pro start out of the way he will be looking to go better this week. Although he is inexperienced at this level we think Dunne will have another solid showing this week at a familiar course.

Chris Wood

1 Pt E/W Chris Wood (35/1 Bet 365)

Chris Wood makes this week’s selections almost purely for his weekend at the Dunhill links. He shot back to back 65’s with no dropped shots. It’s safe to say if he carries on this form he will contend at Woburn. Although this level of form is unlikely to continue, anything close to this level will see Wood go close. He has been struggling for form prior to last week but it looks like something has clicked for the English golfer. Wood knows how to win and is no stranger to big events so look for him to go well in this strong field.
