No Romo spells trouble for Cowboys.

Our Tips

5 Pts on Atlanta Falcons (Away) to beat Dallas Cowboys (20/23 Bet Victor)

Welcome to Boston Gamblers first NFL game week preview. As is the case every year, the start of the season has already thrown up some upsets. The Philadelphia offence was woeful in a lacklustre display in week 2 that saw them move to 0-2 for the season. On the flip side nobody would have expected Tampa Bay to run out winners against New Orleans. Picking winners this early in the season isn’t easy as teams look to establish themselves and get used to the rigour that the regular season presents. Game week 3 throws up some interesting matchups and Boston Gambler are optimistic that we can find value in these fixtures.

Atlanta Falcons (Away) to beat Dallas Cowboys (20/23 Bet Victor)

This one would appear to be a no brainer. Dallas won at the weekend to move out to 2-0 against a poor Eagles team. Dallas failed to impress however and kept Philadelphia in the game for a long time when the game should have been dead and buried after the first half.

What makes this a no brainer, is due to the injury that Tony Romo suffered in the third quarter. Romo was sacked and went down hard on his left shoulder, and unfortunately didn’t get back up quickly. It turns out Romo broke his clavicle and is expected to be out for up to 8 weeks. The Cowboys live through their offence and without Romo we can see their fortunes taking a rapid downward trend.

Brandon Weeden will be the likely man to step in for Romo for the next eight weeks. Although he did well when he stepped in on Sunday, it’s unlikely that he will be able to carry the Cowboys past a strong Falcons team this weekend. Weeden is only 5-16 as a starter and is bound to be feeling the pressure this weekend when he knows his performance is going to come under great scrutiny. Dallas are trying to trade Matt Cassel from the Bills as backup for Weeden but it will likely take time for Cassel to learn the offence.

The Falcons have started hot this season moving out to a 2-0 record. They don’t have the same injury concerns as their Sunday opponents. Julio Jones is on fire, and should take advantage of an average Cowboys defence, expect the Falcons to go to Jones regularly this weekend. All of the above should add up to a Falcons win this weekend who look standout in terms of value.
